Parent Videos for Teaching Toddlers

Singing and talking to babies not only can soothe them and make them happy but it is the first steps to hearing their first word. A great foundation for a robust vocabulary.

Books with repetition, rhyming words, and sight words are great books for young children to develop a strong reading foundation.  These books are turned in to interactive videos.

Alphabet books can be a lot of fun! Put the pages in sheet protectors and they can be written on with dry erase markers for hours of fun! Have them talk about the pages too.

Don't just play games with your kids but talk to them and ask them questions to see what they know.  This will allow you to celebrate their successes and see where they need more fun practice.

Playing games with word families and rhyming words will help build a strong foundation.  word family cards can be used in so many fun ways around the house!

Having kids help is a great way to learn and have fun!

Cooking or baking can be a great way to introduce new vocabulary, following instructions and math.

Read with your kids and have family join in even if it is virtually. Have kids read to you too. Provide them support and strategies with words they don't know.  They can use beginning sounds, pictures and sounding words out. If we don't support them at home we aren't working as a partner with schools.  This should start before kids enter kindergarten! My niece is 4 and reading already!
